Guys Take On: Eating Habits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Whether shoving Ian’s pizza in your face at 2 A.M. or eating hummus while studying at College Library, girls eating habits can be rather strange. Guys observe girls as a rare species, who eat different foods, at different times, in different ways. As ladies, we know that men are missing out on the late night froyo, sushi, and salads, but here are three guys take on our eating habits.

What should a girl order on a first date? Salad or burger? Why?

Billy: Salad, because I also like salad and we can be healthy together

Vinnie: Burger, no one actually likes salads. People only eat them to be healthy and look cool. It shows a girl is confident when she eats a burger. What is the first thing you think of when you see someone eating a salad at McDonalds? That they’re stupid. Why did you come to McDonald’s to eat salad.  (Hm… he must take his dates to McDonalds….)

Matthew: A water (…..um no thank you, Matthew)

Do you know even what hummus is?

Billy: I hate the sh** out of hummus.

Vinnie: Yeah. It’s like mushed up beans… I think

Matthew:  Hummus smells bad and it’s foreign

Is it sexy for a girl to eat a banana?

Billy: AHHHHH No.

Vinnie: Yes. Depending on the methods used.

Matthew: Bananas are a great source of Vitamin C.  Sexy and healthy

Are there any foods girls should never eat?

Billy: Eat everything and anything.

Vinnie: Never eat garlic because it makes your breath smell really bad, worse than guys who eat garlic. Also, stay away from Greek yogurt; it’s basically sour cream. I don’t get Greek yogurt.

Matthew: My food

Would you tell a girl if she had something in her teeth/ on her face after eating?

Billy: If she was nice yes, if she was mean, NO!

Vinnie: Yes. Straight up.

Matthew:  No but I would draw other’s attention to it

So Badger ladies, it seems that opinions on our eating habits vary from man to man, but a few things are for sure: They have no knowledge of what our daily snacks are made of (hummus is made from mashed chick peas; Greek yogurt is strained yogurt with whey), if you have the unfortunate experience of going on a date to McDonalds, do not order a salad, and be nice to your date so that he will tell you if you have food on your face.
