Farmers’ Market Street Style

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

With the start of a new semester and transition into fall weather comes a whole slew of updated trends and styles. There is no better place in Madison to see the latest fashions showcased and gain your own style inspiration than the Farmers’ Market, held every Saturday morning on the capitol square.

This outfit is perfect to throw on for early morning class or laid back activities like the Farmers’ Market! You can’t go wrong with an over-sized sweater and leggings, but Lauren added to the look with other fall essentials: Mid-calf socks, lace-up boots, and a killer statement bag.

Denim is a huge trend this fall, from classic skinnies to jean chambrays, and a cute denim dress is perfect for warm fall days. Finding the right denim dress can he tough, but one that that cinches at the waist, like hers, often creates the most flattering look. A denim dress is versatile enough to be paired with sandals, flats or boots, so experiment with your favorite look.

The transition between summer and fall weather can be tricky: It often goes from chilly to incredibly hot in no time. This outfit is perfect for one of those days where you’re not sure how to dress. A black maxi dress and embroidered sweater are essential fall pieces, but the slit in her skirt can add relief if the weather gets warm. She also wore adorable gladiator sandals instead of boots, keeping a touch of summer in her style.

This was one of my favorite looks of the day. Alyssa knew how to combine the cutest summer and fall styles without looking “too trendy.” An airy floral dress underneath a neutral colored sweater is a perfect option for the unpredictable weather. She opted for chestnut colored oxford booties, the perfect touch to dress up her outfit. Her tangerine colored cross-body bag is also practical and a great complement to her overall look.
