6 Unique Starbucks Cafes Around the Globe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Going to another country or studying abroad, you will try to find things that remind you of home. One thing you can always depend on finding is a Starbucks cafe, in any part of the world. The best thing about Starbucks cafes- besides the coffee- is the different architectural structures that make them unique around the world. Here are a few Starbucks cafes from across the globe.

1. Switzerland

Starbucks cafe on a train?! This is actually the first Starbuck cafe on a train, who thought of this brilliant idea?

2. Tukwila, Washington

Shipping containers aren’t just used for shipping things anymore, you can use it to build a cafe. Plus, it’s eco-friendly and an amazing place to look at!

3. Bangkok, Thailand

The first Starbucks cafe in Thailand to have a drive-thru! And who wouldn’t love to stare at that building every day, it’s awesome!

4.  Amsterdam

This Starbucks cafe is actually located in a former bank vault! It’s also said to be a “glimpse of Starbucks’ vision of the future.” So, basically, it’s awesome.

5. Fukuoka, Japan

The Starbuck cafe is located on the street of the famous Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The interwoven wood is suppose to evoke the branches in a forest. It’s beautiful, can you imagine spending your days studying here?

6. California

This Starbuck cafe is located on the floating USS Boxer, which is a navy warship. The ship is called the Starboxer and all the profits go to the Boxer’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Fund.

As you travel around the world, you should check out things like Starbucks so you can really see the cultural differences between home and the place your visiting. You wouldn’t think something as simple as a Starbucks would change all that much, but as you can see there’s plenty of variation!
