6 Delicious Vegan Treats to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Long gone are the days of unappetizing vegan snacks. You can find tasty vegan treats now that everybody can enjoy. Some even rival their animal-product counterparts!

1. No-Bake Cookies

These are super easy to make and can easily be personalized with your favorite ingredients. The staple ingredients for these are usually: rolled oats, a nut butter (peanut, almond) and a non-dairy milk substitution (nut/soy/oat milk). In addition to those staples, you can add different things to sweeten up the cookie such as dark chocolate, dried fruits, cocoa powder, vanilla and maple syrup! There are millions of different renditions of no-bake cookies, try one out or create your own!

2. Frozen Grapes

I know what you’re thinking, but don’t knock it before you try it. Frozen grapes are super easy to make and provide a tart, yet sweet flavor. Just place washed, stem-less grapes into a plastic bag and stick it into a freezer for 8 hours and then enjoy!

3. Pumpkin Pie Blondies

This one is a great recipe to try in the midst of fall! The key ingredients for this dessert are pumpkin puree, a smooth nut butter, vanilla extract, maple syrup, raw sugar, pumpkin pie spice, flour (whole wheat or unbleached all-purpose), almond flour, baking powder and salt. In addition, you can personalize these blondies by adding in ingredients such as chocolate chips, chopped nuts or dried fruit! The full recipe and instructions can be found here!

4. Avocado Peanut Butter Brownies

The best part about this treat is that they taste exactly like other brownies but have a healthier fat alternative — avocado! This delicious recipe can be found here.

5. Power/Energy Balls

These are great for when you’re on the go because of their small size and filling ingredients. For making these, you want to include filling and nutritious ingredients such as rolled oats, almonds, chia seeds, nut butter and dates. Like most of these recipes, to add some extra sweetness you can add things like coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, cacao or dark chocolate chips! Some fun recipes can be found here.

Happy healthy snacking!
