10 Times the UW-Madison Felt Too Small

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.
One of the many reasons we love UW-Madison is the ability to remain annoymous and avoid human interaction when necessary. Yet we still seem to find ourselves running into the people of our past in the most awkward of situations…
1. When you ran into your one night stand on the Terrace.

2. Running into high school classmates you never wanted to see again.
3. Seeing that girl you almost roomed with freshman year. Should I say hi? Are we friends?

4. Sitting next to that annoying kid who seems to be in all of your classes.

5. The one kid you notice everywhere you go and you don’t know if they notice you back.

6. That one time you ended up at the same bar as your house-fellow.

7. You blocked your ex from social media, but you can’t block him College Library!
8. The guy who asked you out first semester? He’s sitting right in front of you in chem discussion.

9. Your floor mates from your freshman dorm are unexpectedly your floor mates in your new apartment.

10. Everyone you ever met here at Ian’s on a Saturday night.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison may be a huge college with over 30,000 undergraduate students, but you really can run into a familiar face at any time! We suggest purchasing a nice large pair of sunglasses… and maybe a floppy hat for good measure.

Madison is a senior at the University of Wisconsin pursuing a major in English Literature with minors in Entrepreneurship and Digital Media Studies. Post college, Madison plans to complete her dreams of being the next Anna Wintour. In her free time, Madison enjoys listening to Eric Hutchinson, eating dark chocolate, and FaceTiming her puppies back home. When she isn't online shopping, or watching YouTube bloggers (ie Fleur DeForce), Madison loves exploring the vast UW Campus and all it has to offer! She is very excited to take this next step in her collegiette career as Campus Correspondent and Editor-in-Chief for HC Wisco. On Wisconsin!
