A Vegetarian’s Look at Chick-Fil-A

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

The wait is finally over: Chick-Fil-A is finally on Winthrop’s Campus!

But wait what exactly have I been waiting so anxiously for? I can’t even eat at Chick-Fil-A.

When I heard that WU would be getting arguably the best fast food restaurant known to man I was, like everyone else, pretty pumped for the new addition. After the initial shock wore off I questioned what I was so excited about. After all, Chick-Fil-A obviously specialized in chicken, and I don’t even eat chicken.

As the semester progressed, and there was more and more talk about Chick-Fil-A and when or if it was ever going to actually open, I kind of got fed with hearing about. Everyone was so excited about getting another restaurant, and rightfully so, but it just made me sad to hear about everyone’s excitement and not be able to enjoy in all of the fun. I will admit all of this talk made me kind of sad to be a vegetarian.

But once Chick-Fil-A actually opened, after what felt like centuries of waiting, and I saw the line that back out all the way to the door I was kind of excited that waiting in that line wasn’t even an option for me. The gigantic line benefited me because I was able to walk right to another counter and order quickly because everyone seemed to only be eating chicken the first few days. My excitement level rose when I looked at the Eagle Meals that Chick-Fil-A would offer one day just out of curiosity. Of course they have the basics, the classic sandwich, nuggets, and the grilled versions, but they also have a VEGETARIAN OPTION!!

Chick-Fil-A actually was watching out for people like me the whole time. I can now join in on the excitement and hype that comes with getting this new addition. Chick-Fil-A just keeps getting better and better!
