Thoughts Of A Retail Worker During The Holidays As Told By The Grinch

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

The Holidays are here and for some, it’s the best time of the year. For retail workers, it can be the worst. As much as I love my job, working during the holidays is a nightmare. So, I’ve put together a little list of daily thoughts I have throughout my shifts and who better to describe them than the Grinch?!

Looking at your holiday work schedule like…

Christmas decorations? It’s October 17th…

When you’re on your third consecutive 8 hour shift and someone asks you for help

When you and your coworkers are talking about customers over the walkie

Hating Christmas music because you’ve been listening to the same 12 songs since Halloween

Children EVERYWHERE

So. Much. Folding.

No ma’am your RetailMeNot coupon will not work here

Would anyone really notice if I hid in the stock room for an hour?

I know you’re stealing. I’m watching you.

Getting off without doing everything you needed to get done

Good luck out there fellow retail workers!
