Why Bacon is Overrated

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

Just by reading the title of this article, how POed are you?

Bacon has become something that the media has taken to a whole new and crazy level.

Don’t get me wrong – bacon is a great food that goes good with breakfast, occasionally sandwiches (ie. BLT), and some other select dishes, but let’s get real: bacon does not have to go into every. Single. Dish.

Here are some of the most outrageous dishes I have found online that involve bacon:

  1. Bacon Guacamole

  2. Peanut Butter and Bacon sandwich

  1. Bacon Muffins

  2. Bacon Banana Bread

  3. Bacon Brittle

  4. Bacon Apple Pie

  1. Bacon Chocolate Cheesecake

But there seems to be one bacon item that people seem to be split on: the maple bacon donut. Where do you stand on this?

So to wrap it up: yes, bacon is good, BUT no, it does not have to be incorporated into everything we eat.

Anyone agree with me?
