Splendidly Scrumptious: 6 Disney-Inspired Dinners

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

Whether you are looking to reinvent your dinner date nights or looking for a fun way to spend the night with your friends, these six Disney-inspired dinners will make your taste buds tingle and dance with delight. All these movies can be found on Disney+. For the full experience, I suggest eating your dinners while watching the movies.

1. Beauty and the Beast

Despite being hesitant to settle into the castle, Belle eventually indulged in the delicious dining the service had to offer. Even if you are hesitant to try this menu, I highly suggest it. Not only is it a fairly cohesive menu, but the dishes will leave your stomach bulging.

Appetizer: Cheese Souffle

Entree: Beef Ragu and Baguette

Dessert: Tiramisu Cake

2. Lilo & Stitch

This dinner menu follows Lilo’s spunky, colorful personality and her Hawaiian heritage. Let’s face it, Lilo & Stitch can be slightly depressing. However, this menu will lift your spirits as you munch along with the storyline.

Appetizer: Grilled Kebabs

Entree: Pulled Pork Sandwiches or PB&J Sandwiches

Dessert: Shaved Ice or Ice Cream

3. The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion may be spooky, but this menu is scarily delicious. Since food isn’t featured very often throughout this movie, I had a hard time figuring out what the entree should be. The characters eat soup at dinner when they first arrive at the mansion, and the ghosts give the children cookies. However, I had to come up with an entree I felt fit the aesthetic, so feel free to change it up a bit if you wish.

Appetizer: Tomato Bisque Soup

Entree: Chicken and Vegetables

Dessert: Cookies

4. Zootopia

This movie doesn’t have much food in it either. However, I get a breakfast vibe from it. For this menu, I decided to make a breakfast-for-dinner menu. This meal depends on farm fresh produce, so feel free to stop by your local farmer’s market or co-op.

Appetizer: Fruit and Honey

Entree: Scrambled Eggs, Savage Sausage, Cooked Carrots, and Bunny-Shaped Pancakes

Dessert: Donuts

5. Ratatouille

This little chef is impossible to copy, but it is worth a shot! After all, Remi started his cooking journey with a rod and lightning… at least you will have a kitchen!

Appetizer: Potatoes au Gratin or Tomato Bisque Soup

Entree: Ratatouille or Spaghetti

Dessert: Cruller Donut

6. Pirates of the Caribbean

I had to do some research for this one. Pirates had to eat things that took a long time to spoil since they would be out on the water for months. Biscuits have minimal ingredients, honey and rice take a long time to spoil, and salmon can be caught right off the side of the ship. Lastly, it is rock candy for dessert. What better way to rot your teeth than pure, solidified sugar?

Appetizer: Biscuits and Honey

Entree: Salmon and Rice

Dessert: Rock Candy

For recipes, I suggest using AllRecipes, Food Network, Taste of Home, or YouTube. All of the ingredients you will need for these dinner menus can be found at your local grocery stores such as Walmart, Hy-Vee, or Cub Foods.

Remember to use your kitchen safety knowledge, and make sure to cook your meat all the way through! I hope you have fun and enjoy these delicious Disney-inspired menus!
