How To Finish The Semester Strong

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

You may be thinking, “Why should I be thinking about finishing the semester strong? Spring break just ended for crying out loud,” or “I’m a senior, I can slide by this semester. It’s not like my grade point average (GPA) matters anymore anyway.” Well, do not be mistaken folks, it is time to end the semester on a high note whether you’re off to the real world come May, or if you are ready to relax on summer break so you can start next semester stronger than ever. Finishing the semester strong is just as, if not more,  important than starting your semester strong. Here are a few things you can do in order to finish this semester on a high note.

Get Organized

This semester I came across an Instagram account called Passion Planner. At first, I thought this planner would be any old planner, but boy was I wrong. According to passionplanner.com, “Passion planner is one place to store everything: tasks, appointments, class schedules, notes, doodles, journal entries, goals. You name it, we got a space for it.” Lucky for me, I came across a free printable PDF version of this planner. Sure, it was over 100 pages, but to me it was well worth it. Passion Planner helped me crack down on my goals for post-graduation life. I will definitely be purchasing a leather bound passion planner come 2017. Oh, and by the way, they did not pay me to write this post. Download the passion planner here!

Wake Up Earlier

It’s amazing what you can accomplish in a day when you wake up an hour earlier. Do you ever find yourself cramming your homework in at night when really you’d rather be out in the living room hanging out with your roommates watching your favorite TV show? Well, set your alarm an hour or two earlier so that you can wake up in the morning and start your day on a high note!

Go to the Library

I kid you not, I am most productive in the library. Sure, it’s a boring building with plain white walls, but I can assure you that you will get much more done when you are sitting in silence. When you are sitting in silence you are basically forced to get your homework done. So, block off one or two hours of your day in your new passion planner to get that homework done in the library. Plus, you can rent a room in the library so that way you won’t be distracted by the girls talking about last night’s episode of The Bachelor. Rent a free library room here.

Hit the Gym

Did you know Winona State University is one of the few schools in the state that offers a FREE gym? That’s right, we are hashtag blessed guys. Schedule the gym into your life twice a week. That’s two hours of your week. Pretty reasonable I’d say!

So there you have it, Warriors! Try to incorporate these four steps into your life to finish the semester strong!
