Going Out Winter Outfits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winona chapter.

The process of getting ready to go out on a Friday or Saturday night can be stressful.  In the winter, it is even more annoying.  You still want to look cute, but it is hard when it is below zero outside.  You contemplate if you should bring a jacket out, wear boots, or just wear a big sweater.  Here is a list of practical but still fashionable items if you decide to brave the freezing temps.

Leather jacket: Leather jackets are just a classic.  They are so chic and look cute with basically every outfit.  They are also warm so if you are walking outside or waiting for an Uber you won’t totally freeze.

Knee high boots: Knee high boots are definitely “in” right now.  Since they cover half your leg, you can wear pretty much anything with them.  If you want to wear a dress, these boots are a must because you would only have a little bit of skin uncovered.

Skirt and tights: Just because it is winter doesn’t mean you can’t wear a skirt.  Throw on some tights underneath and some cute booties and you are good to go.

Sweater dress: Dresses are my favorite outfits because they are so easy.  You don’t have to figure out what top to wear with your pants or vice versa. Knee high boots would be adorable with a sweater dress.  Oh, and they are warm.  Maybe even a little too warm if you’re in a crowded bar.  But you definitely won’t get cold, which is the main goal here.
