Sometimes it feels impossible to get out of bed during rainy fall days. When the fall slump happens, it’s always good to watch movies that make you feel warm and cozy until it’s over. Here are a few movies that I always watch during the fall season.

Dead Poet Society

Something about young Robin Williams and the boarding school vibe this movie has makes it a constant watch for me during the fall. Not only does it speak to the English major in me, but the theme of carpe diem sticks with me after watching, although I still don’t leave my bed afterwards.

Harry Potter (the whole series)

If you’re in the mood to avoid all schoolwork for the entire day and are ready for a binge, the Harry Potter movies are the perfect fall movies to binge on a cold fall day. Not only will you be busy all day in your bed, but they have the perfect fall vibes! I mean the school uniforms, the falling leaves and the colours; it’s spectacular. Besides, when you’re done with the movies, you’ll be online searching up quizzes to find out which house you belong in.

Twilight

Who doesn’t need a good laugh in the fall? Now, as much as this movie is horrible, it’s also wonderful and I will continue to watch it every single year when the fall season comes around. I would love to say the rest of the movies get better, but, well… they don’t get much better. But I still love them so it’s okay. I don’t know if it’s the rainy town of Forks, Washington that gets me right into the fall mood or if it’s the moody vampire and werewolf combination, but whatever it is, it’s definitely “fall.”

The Notebook

There has to be at least ONE romance movie on this list! The Notebook is a timeless, classic love story. Although it’s not necessarily fall-themed, when you’re feeling down during cuffing season, this movie will make you cry when that’s all you want to do anyway.

Star Wars (the whole series besides the ones Disney ruined)

This is another binge-worthy series. And although this is a touchy topic, I will say it, the prequels are tied with the originals. Before you go find out how to contact me to argue, hear me out; it’s just my opinion, and no, you will not change my mind. There’s something about Tatooine and Anakin turning to the dark side that brings the fall mood out of these movies for me. Besides, having Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman together in the prequels makes them totally worth the watch.

Halloween Town

There had to be at least one Halloween-themed movie on this list; I mean it is fall, after all. This is a MUST-watch. If I don’t watch this every single fall, then fall hasn’t even happened. This is a tradition for me every single year. When I think of pumpkin patches and the changing colours of the leaves, this movie is the first thing to pop into my head. As much as some will say this movie is childish, that will never stop me from watching it on repeat.

There are so many more amazing movies to watch during the fall when all you want to do is be wrapped in a blanket while sipping some hot chocolate. But if you were in a slump and didn’t have any clue about what to watch, I hope this helped you out! I know over the next few weeks I will definitely be crossing these off of my must-watch list!
