How To Decorate Your Dorm/Student Home For Christmas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Western chapter.

Don’t have a fireplace? Draw one! We used our chalkboard to design this one. To top it off we added a big gold bow from the dollar store, some little present boxes and some tinsel! Tinsel makes everything better!

It’s all in the little details. Don’t have a lot of cash to spend on decorating? Buy a box of candy canes and distribute them through the room! A little can add a lot!

We named this little guy Rudy. He makes the room complete and only cost $10 at our local home store.

Another dollar store purchase were these stockings! Grab one for each of your roommates and write their names on it! Make’s your home away from home feel more like… HOME!

Twinkly lights are EVERYTHING. You can also just keep these up ALL YEAR ROUND. So pretty and they make the room feel so warm and cozy!

Balloons! Balloons can make the room feel super festive! You can also use them as decorations for a christmas party or secret santa!

Ordaments in a vase. Simple. Beautiful.

We also hung some ordaments on our key holder! How cute!?

We also picked up some “foam snow spray” at the dollarstore. It looks like snow instantly, and rubs right off with cleaner when the season’s over. We had a lot of fun with this….

The final look makes us so excited for Christmas!!!!!
