Graduating Years Compete in Sing-off and Kickball Game

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wells chapter.

One of the biggest traditions on the Wells College campus is Odd/Even weekend. Graduating classes that end in even numbers compete against the ones that end in odd numbers. This year, I had the honor of making the Oddline team. So far, it has been one of my favorite college experiences. There are two parts to the competition: a kickball game and a sing-off.  The sing-off is my favorite part because as an Odd, I love throwing shade at the Evens in parodies of songs. The friendships you make with your Odd or Even teammates are unforgettable. You get to know upperclassmen and other people in your graduating year. I am lucky to say that I have met some amazing people on the Oddline team. It is not an easy time, though. You have to learn nine songs for the sing-off and only have three weeks to do so. You have to learn to prioritize your school work and make sure that gets done before you go to practice. Also, there is the fact that you have a curfew and cannot party for the weeks you are in season. While those things are not very hard, they require you to be driven and organized. Oddline teaches you how to be disciplined and work as a team towards a common goal. You build a bond and trust like no other. The coaches are also top tier. One of the best parts is having upperclassmen that I, as a Freshman can go to anytime I need.  Trying out for Oddline was one of the best experiences I have had so far in college. GO ODDLINE!!
