The frost is fogging up car windows, the icicles hanging from trees, and our skin is drier than ever. It’s that chilly time of the year which makes us all feel like we could go through a tube of moisturizer in a day. We understand the struggle Collegiettes! Below are four of our favourite tips to keep your skin radiant throughout this snowy season:

1) Give Face Oils a Try

My skin is incredibly oily, and I am extremely prone to breakouts, but applying organic coconut oil before bed has changed my life. It’s antibacterial, fights overnight breakouts, completely natural, and you will forever wake up to glowing skin. None of us should be worrying about wrinkles, but coconut oil also prolongs them from happening! It’s an all around win for your skin! Vitamin E oil is also great for hydrating dry skin. These oils are also excellent for using elsewhere on your body, in other dry spots.

 2) Water! Water! Water!

Glowing skin starts with what we put in our body. During this extremely dry time of year, it’s imperative that we are all staying hydrated. Try to get at least eight glasses a day!

3) Vitamin A(wesome)

Another way to aid your skin from the inside is to ensure that you are getting enough Vitamin A in your diet. Vitamin A can be found in vibrantly coloured fruits and vegetables, such as carrots, sweet potato, red bell peppers, butternut squash and pumpkin. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love sweet potato fries?

4)  Go Easy on the Hot Showers

Who doesn’t feel the urge to run from their cozy bed to a piping hot shower in the morning? Especially on days when it feels like minus twenty-seven! It tempts us all but don’t forget that hot water can especially dry your skin out. Opt for a warm shower instead!

We hope these tips help you from drying out this term Collegiettes! Happy moisturizing!
