Her Campus is an online magazine for collegiate women with over 200 chapters at different universities around the world. Her Campus Waterloo is a chapter of Her Campus and was established in 2014. We focus on writing content targeted towards Waterloo students and encourage feminism across campus through our website, social media accounts and events on campus. If you’re a feminist or you have a passion for writing or a passion for social media and organizing events – you should totally join our club. As a member of Her Campus, you’ll be able to write buzzfeed-worthy articles, meet like-minded girls and help us plan cool events. Not convinced enough to join our team? Here are 8 reasons why you should join our team:
1. Your Articles will be published on our website
Which is pretty cool if you’re looking to build your writing portfolio or looking for a platform to share your thoughts with the Internet.
2. You’ll meet cool new people
As part of Her Campus, you’ll have the opportunity to meet a bunch of different people from different programs and faculties who are into the same things as you are!
Â
3. It Looks Great on a Resume
As the Her Campus website states, some members from different Her Campus chapters have received internships at places like Seventeen Magazine and Washington Post. In particular, at Waterloo, the number one reason our members on co-op have received their placement is due to the fact that they were a writer for Her Campus.
Â
4. You’ll be part of a global community
Her Campus is a big organization, and being part of our chapter will provide you with the opportunity to connect with other Her Campus members from different universities around the world.
