Exam season is upon us. While you may feel the need to study for hours and hours, it is important not to move your mental health to the back burner. Make sure you take time for yourself and practice some self-care. Otherwise, you will probably feel drained, stressed, and unhappy by the end. Here are five ways to boost your mood and put your mental health first this exam season!

1. Pet a Puppy

Take a study break and spend some time with a four-legged friend. Don’t have one? Just search for puppies on Instagram or Pinterest instead for an extremely large dose of cuteness!

2. Journal

I have found one of the best ways to clear my mind and instantly boost my mood is to journal. So take some time to pick up a pen and just write.

3. Meditate

Another amazing way to clear your mind and reconnect with your mind, body, and spirit is to meditate. Find a quiet space, close your eyes and just focus on your breathing. There are also a ton of free guided meditation apps you can download.

4. Enjoy a Cup of Coffee and Tea

Most people who know me know that I am obsessed with coffee and tea. Brewing a cup of coffee or a pot of tea is my go-to way to instantly improve my mood.

5. Make Plans with Friends Create plans with friends for after your exams, so that you something to look forward to during those long, endless hours of studying. Good luck on your exams and don’t forget to take time for yourself and smile!
