As the St. Louis climate transitions from so, SO cold to nice n’ toasty, those of us inhabiting this midwestern city have experienced an onset of “April showers.” Frankly, all this rain makes me want to do is curl up in bed and nap until May, but if I’m not going to get my butt up, dressed, and going out for something as high-key as Harry’s, MPH, or whatever “the move” is, I might as well lug it over to the movie theatre. Thus far, 2015 has been providing top-notch entertainment through new film releases, of course, with the exception of the *cough cough* ATROCIOUS Fifty Shades of Grey *choke* *gag* *etc.* So, whatever kind of day it is (rainy, boring, the perfect day to procrastinate…) that presents me with the opportunity to catch a movie or two in theaters, I will glady take it! Listed below are some films I would be quite alright with seeing.

The Age of Adaline: In the early 1900s, a young woman suffers an accident that, by some supernatural force, leaves her eternally ageless. She spends the film dealing with the naturally unpredictable troubles that come with appearing to never age. If you aren’t already down to see this movie just to wonder at/hate Blake Lively for being so amazing while simultaneously stuffing your face with snacks, the film’s concept is uniquely cool and the trailer is just oozing with hints that there’s going to be a major plot twist at some point.

The Gunman: This seems super dramatic and kind of messed up and honestly I’m okay with it. In this film, a former Special Forces soldier struggling from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder must go on an action- and drama-packed journey through Europe before he can reunite with his lover.

While We’re Young: Not only does this film have an all star cast, including major players like Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, and Amanda Seyfried, it’s premise is heartwarming and fun. A married couple meets a much younger couple and realizes that they are missing out on all the fun of being youthful, so they befriend the younger couple and start to realize that fun isn’t only for the young.

Serena: IMDB says: “In Depression-era North Carolina, the future of George Pemberton’s timber empire becomes complicated when he marries Serena.” I say: Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, period piece OH YA SEE YOU THERE!

The Riot Club: This film follows the exploits of a wealthy, posh group of male Oxford University students in a notorious, exclusive club. British accents; say no more I shall watch it.
