Style Spotlight: Sarah Stroud

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Sarah Stroud is a senior finance major who balances her heavy course work with looking fabulous in Farrell. Sarah finds her fashion inspiration everywhere, from on campus to Pinterest to vintage stores. After graduating in May, Sarah will be heading to New York City to make every girls  “Sex and the City “ dreams a reality.  While New York is far from her hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina, Sarah will manage to look effortlessly chic in the big city.

How would you describe your style?

I would say that my style is pretty eclectic, and tends to change depending on my mood.  I love clothes and trying different combinations of pieces, but I’m not a huge accessories person.

How do you plan on incorporating your style into your work wear?

My office is business casual, so there is more flexibility than some jobs.  When I was interning there over the summer, my favorite thing to do was incorporate one really fun element to every outfit, like a colored pant or a patterned belt.  It still looked professional, but wasn’t quite so basic.

How would you describe style on campus?

I would say that style on campus is really diverse.  Even my roommates and I have very different styles.  It’s funny because we have some of the same pieces, but we wear them in such different ways.  I think that’s true for campus as well.  I see outfits every day that inspire me to try something new!

How do you plan to stay stylish and comfortable for exam week?

I definitely pick cozy library clothes for studying and sometimes even take a blanket, but I like to dress up to sit for exams.  I usually wear some of my favorite outfits on exam days.  I have always heard that if you are confident, then you perform better!
