Sean Lunkenheimer (’13)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Name: Sean Michael Lunkenheimer
Hometown: Old Bridge, New Jersey
Major: Sociology
Relationship Status: ‘Practically Married’
Nickname: Lunk Master Flex

Her Campus (HC): If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
Sean Lunkenheimer (SL): I’m the best.

HC: You run track, right? When did you first start running?
SL: I started running competitively in 6th grade because my brother also ran, and I wanted to be like him.

HC: If you hadn’t pursued track, which other sport would you have played?
SL: I would definitely be a golfer. My golf game is sick nasty … I am talking Tiger Woods status.

HC: Are you involved in anything else on campus?
SL: I am a member of SAAC, which is the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.  I am also involved in Eat with the Deacs and Habitat for Humanity.

HC: So here comes the big, scary question. What do you want to do with your life?
SL: My future goals are to just be successful. I want to compete for as long as possible. A long-term goal of mine is to be an ACC champion and make it to the Olympic trials.

HC: Who’s the one person that’s had the biggest influence on your life and why?
SL: I have had many great inspirations throughout my life but the biggest would have to be my grandpa. The bond that we share is really something special and just different than the relationships I have with other people. Everything I do I feel like I have to do it for him. He is always in the back of my mind with everything I do. He is just one of those people that you are forever grateful for and will cherish all the moments.

HC: Aw that’s so sweet! Do you have any especially favorite Wake memories?
SL: Having the chance to run with my brother and running in the College Championship race at Penn Relays in front of 60,000 people has definitely been a great memory.

HC: If your friends were to give you a superlative, what would it be?
SL: ‘Most Confident.’ Shout-out to my man Bill Matthews for giving me this superlative!

HC: What’s the most overplayed song on your iPod right now?
SL: “Ours” by Taylor Swift. I can’t stop listening to it! I love her so much!

HC: What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
SL: I can’t live without my friends and family. Without them life would not be the same. Also, water, strawberry yogurt, granola, and cats.

HC: What do you do to unwind after a hectic day?
SL: After a crazy day I like to come home, change into some comfortable clothes, lay down on my bed, and listen to country music. I don’t have many hobbies except for sleeping and hanging out, so you can find me most of the time in my bed.

HC: What’s one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
SL: People would be surprised to learn that I am one of the top 400 hurdlers in the ACC. I also have 13 other siblings, who are all girls.

HC: Do you have a celebrity look-alike?
SL: People tell me I look like Dom Mazzetti. I think he is an absolute stud, so I’ll take it.

HC: So who’s your celebrity crush?
SL: I am in love with Taylor Swift. Her music is great! She is so beautiful! I just love everything about her and can’t get enough of her!

HC: So what’s the craziest thing you’ve done to get a girl’s attention?
SL: I have never done anything crazy to get a girl’s attention. They always just flock to me. It is crazy how it works, but I’m not complaining.

HC: What’s the first thing you notice about a girl?
SL: The first thing I notice on a girl is her smile. The smile has to be real nice, or I will be turned off. I also have a slight obsession with hair, so that needs to be nice as well. Long, soft, and shiny are the qualities I look for in my hair.

HC: Is there one outfit or piece of clothing that’s a guaranteed head-turner for you?
SL: When girls wear yoga pants they really get my attention. You really get the opportunity to examine the curves and see what you’re working with when they wear yoga pants.  God bless yoga pants!

HC: So what’s your biggest turnoff when it comes to what a girl’s wearing?
SL: It is a huge turnoff when girls wear a lot of makeup. I like living life all natural! I like when people are not afraid to be themselves. I think it is super hot when girls are beautiful without all the makeup. It is a real turn-on.
