Name: Craig Tepper
Hometown: Avon, Conn.
Year: Senior
Major: Mathematical Business
Minor: Physics
Relationship Status: Single
Astrological Sign: Cancer

He’s modest and musical, with a love for numbers. Meet this week’s Campus Cutie, Craig Tepper!

HC (Her Campus): So what’s it like being a senior at Wake?
CT (Craig Tepper): It’s fun. It’s nice to know the lay of the land and feel more comfortable than I ever have before. But at the same time, there are a lot of lasts.

HC: What are some major things you’ve been involved in during your time at Wake?
CT: I’m a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity, I’m on the club golf team and I do a handful of community service activities.

HC: Oh cool, what got you into golf?
CT: I played in high school and when I came here I either wanted to play club hockey or golf. I thought hockey was too big of a commitment so I went with golf and it’s been a lot of fun.

HC: What community service do you do?
CT: My fraternity has a connection to Habitat for Humanity and I help out there every once or twice a semester. We also came up with our own philanthropy event last year which was “Sigma Nu’s Bomb a Brother.” It helps the Wounded Warrior Project, so that was really fun.

HC: What’s your favorite memory you have with you brothers in Sigma Nu?
CT: I went to Ireland the summer after my sophomore year with five of the brothers in my pledge class.

HC: Oh yeah, Joe Guistino told me a bit about that.
CT: Yeah, I live with Joe now so I guess we’re a pretty “cute” house.

HC: A cute house?
CT: Well, we’ve got two Campus Cuties, right?

HC: (Laughs) True. So you’re a mathematical business major. What made you want to do that?
CT: I like numbers, which is weird, I know. But I’d rather just take a really long math test than write a two-page paper. I also think business is interesting and really practical so the major just kind of made sense for me.

HC: Cool. Do you know what you want to do after college?
CT: I have an idea – some analyst role or something in a math or business field. But I’m a physics minor too, so I hope to fit that in in some way.

HC: Definitely. So tell me a little bit more about you. What makes you different from other guys?
CT: Mmm…I do a lot of different things. I play tons of sports. I play six instruments, which most people don’t know.

HC: That’s really cool! What do you play?
CT: Guitar, piano, three different saxophones – alto, tenor and baritone – and bass clarinet.

HC: Wow, so you’re really musical.
CT: Yeah, my grandfather was a professional musician, so I just kind of got into it that way.

HC: What’s your favorite thing about yourself?
CT: (Laughs) I don’t know. I like that I’m pretty easygoing. I never get too psyched out about anything. I tend to stay level-headed except for some sporting events that I’m really interested in.

HC: Do you have any pet peeves?
CT: I don’t know if this is a pet peeve, but I hate truck commercials. That’s really specific but they’re always really emotional and like, “I really work hard with my truck and am going to hand it down to my son.” They’re just way too sentimental and it drives me crazy.

HC: So moving on to what we all have been waiting for…What’s the first thing you notice in a girl?
CT: The first thing? Eyes. Not just like the color of them but the demeanor of them, if that makes sense – like happy eyes or sad eyes.

HC: So do you agree with the saying that the eyes are the window to someone’s soul?
CT: I don’t know about that (laughs). I think that’s a bit much. I’ve liked a girl’s eyes and not really made it into her soul before so…

HC: (Laughs) That’s a good way to put it. After first impressions, then what do you look for?
CT: Sense of humor. I have a very constant sense of humor so if a girl doesn’t really accept it and go with it then it’s just not going to work too well.

Former Campus Cutie Andrew Wood joined on Craig’s photoshoot!

HC: Do you have any deal-breakers when it comes to dating?
CT: Nothing really specific. If the girl is really uptight, I can’t deal with that very well.

HC: That’s completely understandable. So, time for favorites. What’s your favorite travel destination?
CT: I love to travel. Probably Colorado to ski.

HC: Favorite quote?
CT: My friends and I joke that our motto is “No new friends,” which is really not sending the right message.

HC: (Laughs) Why is that?
CT: Most of us have been friends since freshman year and it’s just funny sometimes when we hang out by ourselves – we’re like, “No new friends.” But that’s definitely not my actual motto.

HC: Favorite song?
CT: I have two favorite artists, Drake and Coldplay, which is a pretty wide range of music.  I don’t know if I have a single favorite song, but it’s probably some Coldplay song.

HC: One thing you can’t live without?
CT: My fantasy football app. I need to be able to check that, especially on Sundays. If it’s a Sunday and I don’t have a way to access it – not happy.

HC: And something about Wake that you know you won’t forget?
CT: It’s probably too cheesy to just say my friends. But it’s the most truthful.
