With all the eco-friendly and organic branding out there, it is no wonder that more and more women are taking advantage of natural products. Over the years, I have tested natural face remedies and have found them to do more wonders for my skin than many of the chemically enhanced products. Here are a few of my favorite natural, homemade beauty remedies:

  1. Pure honey

Honey is naturally anti-inflammatory and therefore helps out acne and skin irritation. Using it is as easy as smearing it on your face, reading the latest Marie Claire, and then washing it off!

  1. Avocado and Egg Hair Mask

The oils in the avocado give your hair a perfect shine while the protein in the egg strengthens the ends of your strands. Mix the two ingredients together and massage generously into hair. Then wrap your hair in plastic wrap and let sit for at least 20 minutes. You may look kind of crazy, so warn your roommate.

  1. Sugar and Olive Oil (or any type of oil) Scrub

Exfoliating is such a necessity, not only for getting rid of annoying peeling skin, but also to clear skin underneath the surface. This simple mixture will do just enough exfoliation without irritating skin. It also works well on lips when followed with a heavy lip balm. And although many of us fret at the idea of applying oil to our face, sometimes a little moisture from the oil is just the remedy your skin needs.
