Five Fabulous Fall Nail Polishes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

As fall is settling into everyone’s mind and school has started, it’s time to change out our nail polishes! Hot pinks, neon greens, and bright blues can be put to rest as summer has ended and school demands us to be organized and focused again. Our grades should reflect our hard work but our nails shouldn’t have to suffer! Sophisticated, cool, and trendy nail colors for fall 2011 are popping up everywhere!

  • Nude/Cream Colors

Many have seen this look since last year but it is still popular because of how clean the look is. Nude colors are not bright or considered noticeable colors because they should resemble shades closer to you skin color. A good thing about cream and nude looks is that if the nail polish chips off, it’s not totally noticeable. Additionally, these polishes work with any outfit you choose to wear so it’s one less thing you have to worry about!

  • Rosy Pinks

Dont fret pink lovers, pink is still wearable in the fall! The weather is growing harsh but our nails can look soft with colors that are rosy or light pink. Pinks can work year round but it’s the shade of pink that really matters. In the fall and into winter, pinks should range from a delicate soft pink to rosy pink. Colors like this lets us to stay girly and cute at times when we don’t feel like dressing up in this chilly weather.

  • Charcoal Grey Colors

Nail polishes that fall under the charcoal grey color category should be concentrated in color and work best if applied with 2-3 coats of polish. By applying a concentrated grey color on your nails show an even coat of a semi-dark color. Because it’s still early fall, wearing dark colors like black is too soon in the season. The semi-dark color shows sophistication as we are busily finishing assignments and taking notes in class

  • A spin on the Classic French Manicure

We always miss our summer colors but no worries there is a solution! Putting a spin on a simple french manicure by switching out the white for a pumpkin orange and lining it with a thin black line across would be festive for fall and Halloween! This allows a fun look to our hands while out at fall festive activities.

  •   Deep Reds

Although it’s too soon for a complete black color, it is not too soon for deep reds that show a warm look to our hands. These deep reds can also have shimmers of gold in it to show a bit of glam to the polish. This color can be good in the fall but also in the winter!
