Why did you decide to attend VCU?

VCU was always my first choice for college because it is the perfect distance away from my hometown and this school has a really good science and music program. I also appreciate the diverse aspect at VCU and the athletics program.

Are there any clubs/organizations/sports that you participate in on campus?

I am apart of VCU’s Black Awakening Choir and I am on VCU’s track and field throw squad.

What made you want to join the Black Awakening Choir at VCU?

I wanted to find a group in college that I could sing gospel music with but also be able to have a spiritual outlet on campus. This all still allows me to be involved in music and minister to other people.

What are your biggest inspirations? What motivates you?

Staying focused really motivates me because I want the things I do in college to benefit me in the end. All the lessons I learned and things I go through now can somehow help people in the future.

What are your big plans after you graduate?

I would like to attend the School of Osteopathy and get another doctorate degree. Then I want to eventually become a pediatric doctor of osteopathic medicine. It would really be nice if I can remain involved in athletics, like coaching for a high school team on the side and possibly be involved in the music industry at a church.

I am a sophomore here at Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcasting Journalism.
