I love being able to update you guys on what to be looking for when shopping this season! Here are some styles that you might want to grab for spring 2021!

Basics

According to WGSN, basics are going to be in high demand this season. Loungewear has become increasingly popular during the pandemic, and companies in that market are bringing their A-game. Some of the materials that are considered essentials in the report are leather, cotton, denim and cashmere.

Cotton t-shirts and soft fabrics usually worn around the house will soon be seen as casual out and about wear. Athleisure has been climbing to the top. Although, prices for pieces that are considered “basics” have been increased in price. But remember, it is very easy to go to your local thrift shop and pick out some comfy casuals.

Neutrals

The WGSN report goes on the show that neutral colors are going to be leaders this spring. I personally own a lot of black clothing and have recently noticed that I am a little scared to use more color. Don’t be afraid to explore the color wheel! Mixing neutrals with more vibrant colors may allow for a cute discovery.

The report coins the term “seasonless neutrals,” meaning it can be worn whenever and mixed with different shades. Layering neutrals can be a fun look too. With spring weather, you never know. But an example of a safe option would be a long sleeve under a sweater vest.

Comfy Button Ups

The collared shirt has been a leading lady in gender-neutral fashion. With the pandemic, I feel like we are all finding ways to work smarter and not harder, and that includes fashion. Businesses are trying to find ways to appeal to the new ways that consumers think.

We can wear sweatpants while working from home, so combining comfort with trends is going to be a fun new exploration. Loose silhouettes and unbelted pants is the path we are on. Button-ups are easy to put on and comfy to layer as well. A light fabric can allow for a layered look but can keep your temperature comfortable.

Knits

Again, comfy is our theme but not at the cost of being stylish. Knits are a casual-looking texture, but when dressed up, can be very classy. A knit set is something mentioned in the report and is a very exciting new trend. Knit sweater vests are going to be a staple. A nice knit dress would be something to easily whip out and wear to a workday or a night out to dinner.

Platforms

My shoe collection has grown quite a bit in quarantine. The surge of the platform shoe has taken over. A shoe with the class and height of heels but the comfy sole of a sneaker. I do have in-person classes, so walking to class in heels would be a nightmare, but with a cute platform boot, I can make it to class with no pain!

I hope these findings give you some ideas to play with this spring! Accessories are the final cherry for every outfit so play around with your jewelry and ascots this spring as well. I hope you all kill it this spring!
