  1. Go to Office Hours

Office hours are one of the most important means of getting help on campus. Office hours not only allow students to gain hands-on help but it can help build relationships amongst students and professors.

  1. Drop a Class if You Feel Uncomfortable

Sometimes classes that we intended on taking prove to be either much more challenging or stressful than we previously thought. Therefore, if you feel that a class you are currently taking is not going to end well in the long run, drop the class. Dropping the class prevents you from receiving a letter grade that is not representative of you and your talents while saving you the heartache.

  1. Stay Hydrated and Eat a Balanced Diet

Practicing good self care habits is crucial to a successful semester. Ensuring that you are staying hydrated and eating a balanced diet helps improve your brain and your mind. Keep a water bottle as you walk around campus. Take a snack or eat a nice meal before that big study session to give your brain that added boost.

  1. Plan Ahead

College can definitely be stressful initially. For some students, the demand can vary vastly from what they experienced in high school. Thus, to help ease this transition, make sure that you plan ahead with classes and extracurricular activities to limit the workload and stay on track.
