The Netflix of Nail Polish

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Vanderbilt chapter.

I am a firm believer that great nail polish can be your best accessory, and this spring is the perfect time to dig through your collection for your favorites. Now I know that every season there is a new “it” color, but let’s be real, I barely ever follow nail polish suggestions. This is mostly because I don’t want to spend the money on a manicure or the polish only to realize that the color looks hideous on me. In the spring, I usually stick to my light pinks, vampy reds, and brights, but this year will be different because of lacquerous.com.

Lacquerous.com is considered to be the Netflix of nail polish because they let you try the hottest nail polishes colors from brands such as Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, and so many more. The process works by picking your favorite polishes from the season’s hottest colors and brands and adding them to a “lust list.” Once you have come up with your top three laquers, you pay the $18/month fee, and the polishes are shipped to you. I can’t even tell you the amount of money this system would have saved me in the past due to buying expensive trendy colors that only looked terrible on me. Also girls, how many of you have bottles of nail polish that you have only used one or two times sitting in the back of your vanity, collecting dust? I am pretty sure it is at least 99% of you.

If you are daring and like to try the newest colors of the season but are wary about spending a lot, then I highly recommend trying lacquerous.com. Although I haven’t signed up to become a member, I am going to create an account soon because there are so many awesome colors that I am just dying to try. Go ahead and sign up soon. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did!

Stacey Oswald, originally from South Florida, came to Vanderbilt as a member of the class of 2015 and got involved with HerCampus her freshman year. She became assistant editor that year and is now the Campus Correspondent for Vanderbilt HC as a sophomore. Stacey is currently a columnist for Ask Miss A- Nashville and the life section of The Hustler. She's also very involved in her sorority, Kappa Delta, as well as Invisible Children. Outside of school and her extracurriculars, Stacey finds happiness in many sources, the most crucial being exercise and the sun. She loves to attend exercise classes and is an avid runner; she recently completed the Country Music Half Marathon. She also loves Vitamin D, especially when on the beach- though of course, she only soaks up the sun after applying SPF. A few of the things Stacey couldn't live without? Good food (especially from Sweet Cece's, Bricktops, and Samurai Sushi), great books (The Hypnotist's Love Story is a recent favorite), her family back in Florida, her wonderful boyfriend, and all of the great friends she's made at Vanderbilt.
