Top 5 Shows That Are Worth Investing Yourself Into

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

1. The Walking Dead

This 10-season AMC original series is worth putting your time and energy into. Whether you’re a person simply looking for entertainment, something to become emotionally invested in, or something to having playing in the background while doing other things, The Walking Dead is perfect! This isn’t your typical zombie show. There is more depth that focuses on the day-to-day lifestyle of the post-apocalypse and more interesting characters that come and go along seasons. The plot will never fail you (IT IS ALWAYS INTERESTING!). Like I said, it’s 10 seasons so you’ll be occupied for a little while. Thank me later for this one :)

2. In The Dark

Okay soooo the main character of this CW original series is blind. Yes, blind. The question that never failed to run across my mind was, “Realistically, how can a blind person do all of these things like clockwork with little to no problems?” I understand that’s just tv magic, but if you knew that the show was about solving murder cases, laundering drug money, and rival drug lords, you’d ask yourself that question too! This lively show takes you through the life of a deadbeat 20 something-year-old blind woman who lives for sex and alcohol, lacks work ethic, and is mildly rude. When she finds her bestfriend in cold blood, she is determined to find the culprit. Personally, the fact that she is blind makes this show 20 times more interesting. Unfortunately, there are only two seasons currently on Netlix, so you would have to space out when you watch it if you want it to last that long. On the bright side, season 3 is in the making. You will fall in love with this show and what it has to offer!

3. The Haunting of Hill House

If you are into true, authentic horror, this Netflix Original will leave you shook to the bone and scared of the dark! What I like about this series is that there are lots of twists and turns that left me confused but interested. Ultimately, they make it a point to piece it all together in the end. So if you like horror and drama, The Haunting of Hill House is perfect for you!

4. The Haunting of Bly Manor

Closely related to The Haunting of Bly Manor, this show was brought to us shortly after by the same creators. As opposed the Hill House series, this series is more on the dramatic side than horror side. Of course there are the occasional scary pop-ups, but I would definitely consider this a drama series. Hope you enjoy it as much as Hill House. They’ll be watching you hehehe *spooky voice*

5. Grey’s Anatomy

Last but not least, this show is definitely one for the books. It will have you experiencing literally every type of emotion you can imagine. Although this show is medical-related and very informative, there is a generous amount of drama, sex, and other adult-life obstacles. This 16-season ABC orginal series will surely have you occupied and content in the comfort of your own home. You will be proud that you watched it!

I hope these shows last you until you need more shows to watch. There are a lot more great tv shows out there. These were just a few that I have recently watched and they left a good feeling in my heart. Remember to do what you love and make yourself happy!
