As most of the country is now having an actual real winter period, not those high 70’s and 80’s during November and December we experienced in 2015, it is never too early to daydream about one of the most anticipated things that come with spring; Spring Break. Those days of doing absolutely nothing but lying out on the beach and soaking up as much sun as your body will allow, are just a few months away from us. No more cold weather, big coats, and boots. March is the unofficial start of Spring Break, although there is no such thing as an “official spring break” start, just a season that lasts from the beginning of March until the end of April. Spring break is where you meet people you would under any other normal circumstances, never meet in your life. EVER. Thousands upon thousands of college students nationwide all enjoy spring break within these 2 months and no matter where you go, you are bound to meet, party, socialize, and possibly become best friends, well at least for that week, with some cool individuals. I have compiled a list of the top 5 (no particular order) most visited spots for a great spring break destination or destinations.

*Although I must issue one disclaimer that Panama City Beach, although I have M A N Y fond memories there and would definitely be included in this list without any second guessing, has changed a lot of ordinances and instituted a lot of new laws and I feel this will definitely directly affect the amount of visitors and patrons to the city and beach this upcoming spring break, we will see though, maybe there will be a follow-up article on how these new laws have or hasn’t affected spring break there.

Cancun

When you heard “spring break” as a teeny-bopper, only one place came to mind; Cancun! The place on all of the commercials and in all of the movies when spring break was mentioned and you’d see masses and masses of crowds of people looking like they are having the time of their lives, chances are, they are. The escape out of the country most look forward to. As the saying goes, “What happens in Cancun, stays in Cancun”… or may end up in a movie scene.

Miami

The adult, 21+ spring break capital of the east coast and possibly the entire country. Miami is THE spot to be if you want to be seen and see the who’s who of the celeb world. You are bound to see at least 3 stars a day while there. Take a stroll down Ocean Drive in South Beach and you will immerse yourself in a melting pot of various cultures and people. There is always a nice breeze when in Miami, no matter how hot the weather is that day. I don’t know if this is scientifically proven but I have been to Miami 10+ times and it’s always the same. Something you really can’t put into words, but you will have memories to tell forever.

Las Vegas

Although sporting not a beach in sight, Las Vegas makes up for their spring break in MANY ways than one. I would definitely recommend, just like Miami, being 21+ if you do want to go experience the Vegas life for a week.

Jamaica

I mean, you just have to say one word and you know you are in for a great time and experience; Jamaica. I could go on and on and on about this place but you will just have to experience this one for yourself, for real.

Bahamas

A cruise is always something pretty cool to go on, but during spring break, man oh man! You are on a party ship with your friends and people from all over the country. It is literally like a floating beach, if that makes sense. Did I mention the endless amounts of food and good time? Probably bad for your spring break diet but who cares, it is spring break then.

Oh, by the way, happy New Year! Let’s make 2016 the greatest year to date of our lives!
