How To Plan the Best Spring Break Getaway

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Plan ahead: When it comes to planning out the ultimate spring break, planning ahead is a great idea. This way you can get the best deals on hotels and other vacay accommodations. Time gives you more of an opportunity to choose your dream destination and research all the attractions and fun activities it has to offer. Also, it allows you first dibs on the beachside suite rather than the last motel room available 30 miles from the beach. After all, it takes time to devise a mater plan!

Save your money: Not only do you need money to front the cost of the trip but you will need spending money. When it comes to vacations, expect to spend a pretty penny. You never know when you will spot the cutest pair of sunglasses or perhaps order too many strawberry daiquiris out with the girls. No one wants to be the friend who has to watch everyone rent jet skis and scale the pacific.

Go somewhere new: You don’t have to follow the crowd of spring breakers every year. Maybe this year, take a 7-day cruise or take a trip to Puerto Rico. The sky is the limit as long as you prepare accordingly. Don’t let the “typical” spring break hold you back from experiencing new things.

Bring the right people: Your vacation can turn really sour if you bring the wrong friends to tag along. If Jasmine and Rebecca are in a month long feud they may have to stay home this year. Vacation is about fun and relaxation; stress and drama should not be on the itinerary. Invite your girls, but not too many because too many wants and dislikes can rain on your vacation parade.
