Making straight As can be easy for some, but hard for others. Making straight As isn’t necessarily the “hard” part. Working hard to maintain them and staying grounded in order to do so is. But have no fear Haley is here to give you a few tips and tricks on how to make this Spring semester a productive and rewarding one. So, let’s get to it.

Tip #1: When you get your syllabus, start planning.

What I mean by this is, literally AS SOON as you get your syllabus, highlight important dates. Just to make it interesting maybe highlight with different colors and doodle around your syllabus. Not only should you highlight important dates, but also write the date of every test, exam, quiz, create a study plan, and write down homework assignments and when they’re due. A great thing to do is have reminders set up in your phone, on your desk, or around your room so you’ll never forget an assignment or exam.

Tip #2: GO TO CLASS!

This probably should’ve been number 1, however it wasn’t, but the point still stands. Get your ass up and go to class. Of course, there will be somedays where you may be like “I literally can’t”. And sometimes you need those days where you skip class because you need more rest or you just need a break and that’s okay! However, DON’T  make it a habit. Going to class can be tedious, but face it, you’re paying for these classes so you might as well suck it up and get it over with. To actaully make straight As, you have to go to class lol. There’s literally no way around this tip. If you go to class, you learn the material and if you learn the material(and actually pay attention) you’ll do great on your homework and more importantly, tests. So, get up and go to class. I want the same energy from you guys that Spongebob has when he goes to boating school. Period.

Tip #3: STUDY! STUDY! STUDYYYY!

Guys.. I cannotttt stress this enough. STUDY! Whether it’s for a quiz, test, or exam, just study. Even if you think you know the material you should still study. Just to make sure you know the material in its entirety. A personal thing I do while studying is rewrite my notes then teach them to the wall. If you can successfully teach an inatimate object or one of your friends, congratulations. You will most likely make an A :)! Aso, attend study sessions, have some with friends or people in your class. A good way to study is somewhere that’s comfortable in temperature, low on noise, and with good lighting. If you like to study with music maybe bring your headphones (if you’re going in public), or if you’re in your room or a friend’s room have your music at a nice level. Just make sure you can concentrate! Make sure to have energizing drinks and snacks just in case.

Tip #4: Wake Up EARLY

I know it’s easier said than done, but it helps you more than it hurts you. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day being that it helps wake you up, and fuel your brain for the challenging day ahead. Working out or taking a walk is also good to do first thing in the morning because you’ll be more energized, and besides, who doesn’t need fresh air. This also gives you a chance to reflect, meditate and you’re free from distractions.

Tip #5: Pace Yourself

This is the most important one in my opinion because if you overwhelm yourself; you’re going to burn out quicker. We don’t want to burn out. In order not to do that, you can’t stress yourself out or over work yourself. If you’re in an organization, sport, or club, managing your time and not wearing yourself thin can really help you in getting straight As. When you learn how to manage your time, everything else gets easier and your academic life starts to flow better. If you have bad time management skills, be sure to improve those because honestly, college isn’t hard. The magic word is literally: time management.

Well that’s all everybody! I hope these tips help you prosper and soar this semester. Good luck!
