It snowed for the first time yesterday in Wisconsin. I am excited to start getting into the holiday spirit, even though Halloween hasn’t passed yet. Cooper, our rescue dog, does not share my excitement. He wasn’t used to the cold or snow when we got him from Texas in January last year, and since then he has hated snow, not wanting to go to the bathroom outside. This is a problem, since he is a dog and needs to go potty multiple times a day. I’m surprised he hasn’t burst his bladder at this point, because he would rather hold it in than go outside in the snow. It’s weird, because normally he will pee anywhere, but he will only go in perfect conditions while it’s snowing. There must be no snow whatsoever. He will not cooperate if there is even a sprinkle of snow on his feet. Now, our 10-year-old dog is used to the cold. He is very small and old, but he will run through the snow. He is probably only a foot tall, but he will stand in snow that is as tall as him. Cooper would never do that. I’m tempted to get him winter booties, a hat, and a puffy coat just so he will go outside. You would think he’d be used to the snow by now since being with us last January, but no, he just thought it was a one-time occurance. Wisconsin has the worst snow ever. And it’s not even winter yet. Cooper may think this is the worst thing ever, but this is only the beginning. He either needs to buck up and go potty outside in the snow or Mother Nature needs to make it a sunny winter, because little Cooper hates snow.
