Name: Jessica Pederson
Major: Vocational Rehabilitation
Year: Senior
Hometown: Maplewood, MN
HC: Why did you choose to attend UW-Stout?
JP: I chose UW-Stout, for a couple reasons; one of them being the campus. When I came for my tour, I loved the atmosphere of the campus. Another reason that I came to Stout is because they had a waterski team.
HC: What’s your favorite thing about Stout?
JP: The people and community. Everyone at Stout is very friendly and it is so easy to make new friends.
HC: How and why did you get involved with Sports Club?
JP: I first got involved with sport clubs through the waterski team. I was then encouraged to apply to be on the sport club board and was voted on as the Vice President last year.
HC: How long have you been waterskiing and what made you want to join the Stout team?
JP: I have been skiing since I was 3 years old. One of the reasons I came to stout was because they had a waterski team. I joined my freshman year at Stout and have been a dedicated member ever since.
HC: What different executive board positions have you held and for how long?
JP: 2011-2012 Secretary of Waterski Team,
2012-2013 Treasurer of Waterski Team,
2013-2014 President of Waterski Team,
2014-2015 Vice President of Sport Clubs,
2014-2015 Treasurer of Waterski Team
HC: What can we expect from the Sports Club next year? What about the waterski team?
JP: One of the goals for sport clubs next year is gaining more members and having all sport clubs interact more with each other. As for the waterski team, next fall we will be hosting a barefoot waterski tournament. We have not hosted a tournament for 6 years, so it will be a great opportunity for us.
HC: What are your plans and aspirations for your future?
JP: I graduate next may (2016), and after that I am unsure. I hope to find a job somewhere close to home.
