Cozy Accessories You Need to Make For Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

Winter is a beautiful season with all the snow on the ground, but bundled up in our coats it’s hard to look stylish.  By creating your own accessories to protect you from the cold, you can create practical pieces that show off your inner flare.

Sweater Mittens

It’s always great to up-cycle old clothing. You can do so by turning old sweaters into a new pair of mittens. Just cut out the size you need and sew the sides together. In just a few steps your hands will be ready for building a snowman.

Flannel Scarf

You know flannel is a must have during the winter. So why not make your own scarf out of it.  All you need is a little bit of fabric to make your own. They are simple to make and could make a great gift as well

Jeweled Beanie

With this DIY you can glamourize your old beanie. Staying warm doesn’t mean you have to look plain. By incorporating old pieces of your jewelry into your hat, you can create a more expensive look.

Heart Socks

Nobody said your socks couldn’t have style too. You can keep your feet nice and toasty in these heart patch stockings, perfect for those days spent snuggled up in bed. Easily made by sewing pieces of fabric onto an old pair of your socks.
