HC: What do people say is your best quality?
CS: When I won the “Fantastic Freshman” award earlier this semester, a quote from one of the nominations for me said “He makes your heart smile.” And that made me feel all happy inside.
HC: How are you involved in campus? If not, do you want to become more involved?
CS: Where to start… I am a First-Year Assistant at the Qube, I’m an RA in Wigen Hall, I’m in the Gender & Sexuality Alliance and I’m a member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity.
HC: Where do you see yourself 5-10 years from now?
CS: Hopefully in 10 years I will have my master’s degree in Professional Counseling or social work and I’ll be running some sort of LGBT Center on a college campus.
HC: Who is the main influence on your life?
CS: My best friend Haylee from back home knows exactly how to keep me sane. If I need advice, I usually go to her. I also feel like I get a lot of really positive influence from my brothers in Pilam and I can always depend on them.
HC: If you were given a large amount of money, what is the first thing you would spend it on?
CS: Obviously, the first thing I would do would be pay for college, obviously. Then I would want to buy/put money toward a modest home or apartment so I can live comfortably without major financial worry while I’m getting myself settled into my professional career. If there was money left over, I would probably buy something nice for my friends or family.
HC: What is your ideal first date experience?
CS: I’m really old-fashioned… I would love to go to dinner and go see one of those sappy stupid movies. I also really like group-type settings for a first date, so like a Greek Formal or something similar.
HC: What is an ultimate deal breaker in a relationship?
CS: You need to have compassion and empathy if I am going to be in a relationship with you. I like to think that I’m a good person, so I would hope that you are too. Also, if you’re mean to your server, that’s just an automatic no.
HC: If you could develop any superpower, what would it be?
CS: I’m going into a counseling-type field, so it should be pretty obvious that I would want to read minds.
HC: Favorite place on campus?
CS: I’m biased, but I absolutely love going to the Qube; even when I’m not working. I just love walking in and seeing all of the smiling faces and everyone is so warm, welcoming and inviting. It’s a really great place to make friends and the back room is perfect for doing homework!
HC: Any other quirks about yourself you want people to know?
CS: I’ve been told I say “literally” a lot, and I’m trying to work on it. So if you come across me and I say “literally,” I hereby give you permission to slap me.
