3 Lifestyle Changes to Prep You For Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Lax chapter.

These cold Winter months can often have many of us in a slump, lacking the energy to take care of our bodies.  Here are three ways to better yourself for the upcoming Spring months.

1. Drink Water.

It is said that women should drink the amount of ounces in water they weigh in pounds.  For example a woman who weights 135 lbs should drink 135 ounces of water a day.  Water keeps us hydrated which can fight off problems such as headaches, stomach aches, fatigue, and insomnia.  You can always spice it up by adding lemon or lime to the water for a touch of taste.

2. Keep Lotion Handy

With the air being so dry, it is easy for your skin to become rough and irritated.  Always keeping a small bottle of lotion in your purse or backpack is a sure way that your hands or face can stay hydrated and less prone to irritation.

3. Switch to a “Sun Protect” Shampoo

Because the sun will start appearing more and more in the coming weeks, it is important to switch to a “Sun Protect,” shampoo that helps sunlight from damaging your color treated hair.  Many times in the summer, outside is where we all want to be. Unknowingly, the sun damages color treated hair and can often strip the $100 highlights that you put in your hair.  My recommendation for a shampoo would be the Aveda Color Conserve line.
