There is no video I have watched more than the one that sparked my love for Emma Chamberlin: “Road Trip to Vegas FT Dolan Twins and James Charles.” Since this video, four years ago, my love for James Charles has faded and my nonexistent loyalty to the Dolan twins has remained, yet my adoration and love for Emma Chamberlain has merely grown. As an avid listener of her podcast “Anything Goes” and consumer of “Chamberlain Coffee” products, Emma Chamberlain is practically a part of my everyday life. I, amongst I assume thousands of other fans, believe Emma Chamberlain and I would be the best of friends, thus why I refuse to ever pay to meet her at an event and plan to ‘randomly’ stumble into a cafe she is sitting in, politely joining in authentic and natural conversation about books and cats. I sometimes even refer to her as Emma, as if we are on a first name basis. I indulge in her fashion experiences, obsessing over her Met Gala looks and New York Fashion week appearances, admiring her quirky, chic look. All of this to say, when Architectural Digest released a house tour of Emma Chamberlain’s house guided by the owner herself, I immediately watched, along with the over 3 million other people who have viewed this in the last two days. As a whole, the house is effulgent and majestic, a proper reflection of her chaotic yet beautiful essence.
And with that, let us dig into each room in the Chamberlain mansion. Warning, all of my ratings are extremely high and I will accept no objections.
Dining Fit For a Queen
This dining room does a wonderful job of combining Emma Chamberlain’s design aspirations: cozy and bohemian look with an eccentric modern flair from the electric blue chandelier. The stone egg-shaped dining table accompanied by the matching chairs creates a modern Flintstone look which ties well with the high ceilings and natural lighting, both features which remain a consistent theme through the home. My only critique is the rug, a piece which I believe is lacking in personality relative to the rest of the room. 9.4/10
Chamberlain Coffee’s Matcha has found its earth-toned match
This sage green kitchen paired with copper and brown accents has me craving a pot and pan, just so I can have a reason to be in there. The natural lighting of the room brings an aspect of whimsy to it and the window looking onto the luscious greenery transports me to pixie hollow. I wish the green was more of a deep, emerald green to give the room a little contrast from the lightness of the decoration and the marble slab under the sink feels distracting, but besides those equally hyper critical points, this kitchen is a work of art (what I would do to use her coffee station)! 9/10
To be Emma Chamberlain’s Cat
As I watched the video, I felt a jolt of excitement as my eyes glazed over nearly each room, admiring the attention and artistic perspective so evident in them. But, the bedroom is the one exception to this, largely because of the bed itself. While the layout of the room is beautiful and I respect having a more minimalistic room for comfort and relaxation purposes, this room leaves me bored. My greatest issue is the flatness of the bed due to odd mattress and bedding situations; it looks very uncomfortable and almost 2 dimensional with flat pillows; the room could be transformed with just a few throw pillows. I do LOVE the cat bed though! 6/10
Emma Chamberlain’s Soul in a Couch Cushion
If I were to live in a world where all I did was read books, drink coffee, play with cats, and eat biscotti, I would want this room to be the place. Bursting with energy and personality, this room encapsulates all of the fun, quirky, yet coziness of Emma Chamberlain herself. The ceiling is striking and the art wall composed of work by both her father and comedic pieces such as peanut butter and adorable tutu-wearing mutts with a bench of books underneath radiates joy. Each section of this room establishes the modern but free spirited essence of the home. 10/10
Hannah Montana’s Closet in 2022
I grew up dreaming of Disney Channel closets, the primary one being Hannah Montana’s revolving closet with every item you can imagine. And while Montana’s remains elite, Chamberlains comes in at a close second. Her sweater vest rack and Ultrafragola mirror transforms these everyday objects into art pieces and the wall of shoes galore is greatly desirable. I love everything about this room; my only question being, how can she fit all of her clothes? 11/10
Only Place I Wish to Snorkel
This final room may be the quirkiest of all due to the bizarre yet oddly fitting pictures of boys underwater, a scene you would not picture to complete a mature modern home. The teal blue and deep rose-red color scheme radiates warmth into the room. This room is the only in the house that feels quaint to me, which I appreciate because although I enjoy open architecture, I like the contrast and diversity. The couches also appear supremely comfortable to me. 9.7/10
