Fashion should be fun. People often write off fashion because they believe fashion should be left to the “professionals” or they have to over-consume clothing to participate. However, fashion doesn’t have to be defined by the designers or include the overconsumption of materials. Fashion can be utilizing whatever you have in the back of your closet, your local second-hand store, or a hand-me-down from your older siblings. If you’re looking to spice up your wardrobe, use a piece you had stored away in your closet from years ago, or style the clothing you often wear differently, take a look at the predicted fashion trends for Spring 2024 and gain inspiration on new ways to express yourself for this upcoming season.

White Dresses

When I say white dresses, I want you to picture the dresses typically worn at the wedding reception after the ceremony. These dresses are still beautiful and unique but not as restricting as wedding dresses. These white dresses are ethereal, dainty, textured, and flap in the spring breeze. They are perfect for warmer spring temperatures through their breathable fabric. They also match the white budding on the trees and reflect nicely in the sunny outdoors against the vivid blue sky.

Red Accents

Consider incorporating red accents into your wardrobe to bring a pop of color into simple outfits. These accents include bags, purses, shoes, hair accessories, and jewelry and are used to pull together an outfit uninteresting in color, such as a white blouse with blue jeans or a black-and-white look. Many enjoy this trend because these accessories can elevate an outfit already accessible in their closet and are easy to find in various stores.

Floral Patterns

Is spring ever spring without flowers? Floral print will always have a chokehold in everyday fashion, but sometimes people are skeptical about using floral prints. Still, spring is the best time to put all your floral prints on the forefront and celebrate the beauty of spring, and since floral prints are popular, they are easy to find in nearly every store.

Graphic T-Shirts

Honestly, graphic t-shirts never went out of style, but they are predicted to appear strongly this spring, especially during the warmer part of the season. Graphic tees are perfect staple pieces in any casual outfit and turn an outfit meant for walking into something fun to look at. If you ever wear walking shoes and shorts for an outdoor event, consider pairing these items with a graphic t-shirt or a graphic tee with a skirt. Either way, try something new.

Tights

Tights are not only perfect for wearing dresses and skirts on a cooler day, but they are also perfect for adding something extra to your outfit. Patterned, polka-dotted, laced, and designed tights are expected to appear this spring, even in bright colors that divert away from the standard black or nude tight theme.

Her enthusiasm is not just about being part of the publication but also about honing her writing skills and delving into compelling topics that resonate with women across all Her Campus campuses. Beyond Her Campus, Blanly is a student at the University of Virginia. In the past, Blanly has written for an international non-profit working to increase foreign aid for countries whose large percentage of citizens live below the poverty line. She has interviewed incredible women warriors such as the founder of Lydia House International, Margo Rees, and the founder of ICAP at Columbia University, Wafaa El-Sadr. She has been writing ever since fifth grade and even wrote an unpublished book she swears will stay locked in the files until the day she dies. When she's not writing, Blanly enjoys walking outside while listening to music, hanging out with friends, and reading. She enjoys reading silly romantic comedies or novels exploring topics on race and gender. Her favorite musicians are Beyoncé and BTS, but she loves listening to all types of music. She says her fatal flaws include spending money on sweet treats and buying album books.
