Sunday was the hottest day of the week. It was almost 85 degrees and I was in sneakers and running shorts—it had been too hot to put on something cute. As I walked past the Rotunda steps with red cheeks and a shiny forehead, seeking air-conditioning, I bumped into Jennifer. Jennifer, a Fourth Year, had found a way around the heat problems I was having: in a pair of cutoff shorts with daisies sewed on and an awesome flowy tank top. But the best part of her outfit was the glasses. Round and incredibly reflective, I found myself staring straight into my own eyes, with a full-mirrored view of the barely sub-par outfit I had on.
After waving goodbye to Jennifer, admiring one last time the pale colors of an outfit that went so well with her tan, I ran home and changed into my own favorite cutoffs so that I, too, could strut my stuff (almost) as well as Jennifer had.
