Valentine’s Day is actually such a fun day and it doesn’t have to be one where you dread celebrating! You can take it on to be a day where you celebrate and appreciate your significant other, turn it into an extended Galentine’s Day or even make it Single Awareness Day (and while yes, Single Awareness Day is abbreviated to SAD, you don’t have to make it that way!)

Seriously, Valentine’s Day is a great day. What other moment of the year can you celebrate and just appreciate loving love!

Okay, done being sappy.

Here are a couple of ideas (single or not!) to celebrate your romantic Wednesday. I mean… what is more romantic then hump day?

1)   Be Spontaneous with it!

I think this is so important! Make sure you’re having fun with your day. Maybe surprise order some chocolates for you S.O.? Or just bake cookies for your besties! Just make sure to show the people around you some love, some way some how!

2)   Cook.

I don’t know about you guys but when I can take a night in and really have fun with cooking a new recipe- I love it! So, why don’t you go on delish.com or pick up that cooking magazine and make something that you love or that you know the person you’re cooking for does (or even better, something the both of you will enjoy!)

A couple of ideas that I’ve loved to make in the past: Crepes (get that nutella ready, girl), potatoes au gratin (always easy and super delicious), a good salmon recipe, some fun pesto pasta and the list goes on!

3)   Self-Care

Who do you forget to say I love you to the most? Yourself!

Show yourself some love too. Get a nice mask, paint your nails, listen to the new album you’ve wanted to check out on Spotify and just treat yoself. You deserve some lovin’ too! Honestly this is as important as showing love to others, so do it!

4)   Girls Night Out

Your besties + the latest Nicholas Sparks. Boom. Shameless plug for the latest Nicholas Sparks that’s in theaters right now.

5)   Gifts!

So the hardest thing that can come up with Valentine’s Day are the gifts involved with it! One idea that I overheard from one of my girlfriend’s was a “mutual gift” that you can give to your boo.

An idea is to buy something, maybe an experience of some sort like a yoga class or spa day, that both of you can enjoy! The best memories are usually made together!

And with that: Happy Valentine’s Day you guys! Hope you have a wonderful day of love!

Smile, it makes you live longer!
