There are two people in this world: the ones who listen to holiday music practically all the time, and the ones who don’t start listening to holiday music until the day after Thanksgiving, maybe even until December 1st. No matter which category you fall into, holiday music is one of the best parts of the holiday season. From the traditional style to even modern day music, there are all kinds of holiday music. So, here are some songs and albums that happen to be my favorite, that you should check out this holiday season. After all, as Buddy the Elf would say, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”

Merry Christmas by Mariah Carey

Who doesn’t know the song “All I Want for Christmas is You”? That classic song, along with nine others, make up Mariah Carey’s extremely popular holiday album. Give it a listen to hear some classics like “Silent Night” or “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”. There are also some new twists on some old favorites like her version of “Joy to the World”, and even some original songs like “Miss you Most”.

Under the Mistletoe by Justin Bieber

“Mistletoe” was released in 2011 and is still popular today. Bieber does his own renditions on classics like “Silent Night” and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”, like Mariah did. He even duets with Mariah on “All I Want for Christmas is You” and The Band Perry on “Home this Christmas”. Bieber has a lot of originals on the album and some pretty neat spins on traditional songs like “Drummer Boy”.

The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s holiday album consists mostly of her country renditions on classics such as “Last Christmas” and “Santa Baby”. There are also some originals on the album. “Christmases When You Were Mine” is the song to listen to when you are dealing with a heart break during the holiday season. “Christmas Must Be Something More” is the go-to upbeat song on this album.

All Pentatonix Holiday Albums

It’s hard to pick the best Pentatonix holiday album, they’re all that good. Their perfect blend of voices on “Hallelujah” and “Mary Did You Know?” are some fan favorites right now. You can’t go wrong listening to any song on any of these albums.

“Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney

This has been my favorite Christmas song for as long as I can remember. It is so uplifting and upbeat, yet so simple. It’s hard to listen to this song and not have a smile on your face.

“Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande

Here’s a holiday song that’s really more about love than it is the season, but it’s still so good. Ariana wants Santa to tell her if her love interest will still be around next holiday season, but just like every other song of hers, you can’t help but sing along.

Happy Holidays!
