If you asked me my favorite season, I would without hesitation choose fall. There is just something about the crisp weather, the flannels, and watching scary movies while wrapped in a blanket that makes it a little easier to get it out of bed in the morning. It may be only September, but it is officially ~Spooky Season~ in my book. Here are seven reasons to love fall.

1. Sweater weather

There is something magical about finally breaking out your favorite light sweater or flannel for those crisp fall days to do some basic pumpkin or apple picking.

2. Fall scented candles

I love fall candles despite the severe lack of them in my room and house. This is due to lacks of funds in my bank account. Who wouldn’t want their room to smell like pumpkin pecan waffles? I know I would, if the cost of a candle wasn’t the same price as a weeks worth of groceries. But I digress. Also, Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow scented candle, anyone?

3. Halloween movies

I tend to gravitate towards the movies that put me in the Halloween mood rather than making my spirit leave my body. (I am a total scaredy cat when it comes to anything scary). My favorite ones to watch would be Hocus Pocus, HalloweenTown, and Corpse Bride.

4. Halloween

How can you not love Halloween? The dressing up, the candy, the discounted candy the day after. I don’t care how old I get, I will always be thinking about what I want to be for Halloween beginning in August. Have I mentioned it is one of my favorite holidays?

5. Apple picking

There is nothing better than picking a huge bag of apples and trying to find ways to get rid of them before they turn all gross. You probably won’t get that far, but it’s the thought that counts! Apple pie for breakfast is always a good idea.

6. Leaves changing colors

My favorite part about going to school in Utica is it’s close proximity to the Adirondacks. There is nothing better than going on a hike and seeing all the changing colors.

7. Pumpkin carving

I am accident prone, so I won’t be carving any pumpkins this year. However, how cool is a jack-o-lantern? If you don’t trust yourself enough to carve a pumpkin like me, there’s always pumpkin painting.

In conclusion, there are so many great things about fall and so many reasons to love it. If you need me, I’ll be waiting patiently for it to finally be 50 degrees out.

If you need to find me, I am probably reading, writing, or looking at dog videos. Lover of corgis, chocolate, and coffee.
Meet Bianca, I am currently a Junior at Utica College in Utica, NY.  I am a Criminal Justice major with a concentration in Homeland Security.  Crime investigation has always been something that interests me.  I’m dedicated and passionate and it’s hard for me to quit things. I get that from my father so don’t hold it against me- he was a veteran and police officer for 20 years.   Growing up in a family centered around law enforcement has helped guide me in this direction, and I will forever be grateful.  After graduation I intend to continue on to law school where I can further my education in hopes of becoming a criminal defense lawyer and later on a District Attorney.  An interesting fact about myself is that I found the passion to be a criminal defense lawyer from watching the O.J. Simpson case.  The facts and conspiracy theories evoked a whole new passion behind criminal investigation that I intend to use in my future.  One of my most prominent moments in my writing career was when I wrote for an online magazine and had my most prevalent article hit 1.6k shares.  I believe in treating people with the same kind of respect and manners you would expect in return, and in a way it has helped shaped my expectations in life.   When you first meet me I won’t be the loudest in the room or the center of attention, but I will be intently listening to everything you say, for what you have to say may have a purpose. I believe in purpose. I believe that everyone is here to help you grow into who you are today and who you will be tomorrow.
