Venus Retrograde is Almost Over and All I Can Say is Thank God

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

In case you haven’t heard, Venus has been in retrograde since March 4 and it’s been wreaking havoc in everyone’s lives. If your love life has been a trainwreck so far this spring, consider Venus. Since March 4, it has appeared to observers on Earth to have switched directions, and it looks like it’s moving backwards. It didn’t make sense to me at first, either – here’s a diagram.

Venus is the love planet, so this change-up may affect our relationships with SO’s, family, and friends. New fights may arise, communication might seem off, and things might just feel more tense than usual. Retrogrades also rule the past, so old relationships may come back up into our lives with Venus in its backspin. Past desires, regrets, and feelings may resurface as well. Retrogrades affect each sign differently – for instance, I am a Taurus and my boyfriend is a Libra, so Venus is the ruling planet for both of us. You can probably infer how things have been complicated for us during this retrograde.

Thankfully, though, not everyone is affected in the same way, and Venus Retrograde may actually carry some positive things with it. It gives us a new perspective, allowing us to step back and assess what we really want for ourselves and what is best in the long run. Also, when the retrograde ends, we will have a period of reflection to look back on and assess our experiences. In any case, the last few weeks have probably been a roller coaster for all of us, whether you believe in astrology or not. Keep your head up and remember to focus on yourself. This retrograde ends on April 15, and we can finally live in peace again. Not so fast, though – Mercury is in retrograde again starting on April 9, so stay on your toes!

I love politics, our Mother Earth, singing in the car, and cuddling my cat until he gets tired of me.
