There are only a few more sunny days left, and it is important to start savoring those days! But, here is a great DIY project–that actually works–that allows you to get outside AND make something for the upcoming hot chocolate and apple cidar that you will be craving!

Things you need:

  • Nail polish
  • Toothpicks
  •  Disposable container
  • Mugs
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Paper Towels (a lot or them)

STEP 1: Fill a disposable container with hot water. It is extremely important that this water is hot because it gives you extra time.

STEP 2: Pour one or two drops of nail polish in the bowl. Make sure to pour the polish extremely close to the surface of the water otherwise it will just sink.

STEP 3: Quickly swirl the nail polish with a toothpick

STEP 4: Dip your cup and pull it out of the water

STEP 5: Set on a paper towel to dry

Helpful hint: You must complete all these tasks at super sonic speed it took four people and some serious focus to get results that looked good. Good news though, if you mess up it comes off with nail polish remover!

Have fun, collegiettes!

I am a current journalism student at the University of Utah. I have spent my years in college studying, traveling, and writing. I am a campus writer for the University of Utah and have my own blog Beautiful Detour. If I am not on campus I am hopefully off in another country meeting new people...or lying in my bed under a million blankets watching that day's netflix binge.
