16 YouTube Haiku Videos to Brighten Your Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

For those of you who have never heard of a YouTube Haiku video, they basically laid the foundation for Vine. These were short videos that lasted anywhere from three seconds to a minute that exist to make your day better. Since we are all back in school and experiencing some pretty brutal weather, it is the perfect time to take a break and cheer yourself up with a random video. These videos are not only funny, but, as with most Vines, they will stick with you and you may find yourself quoting them all the time. If you need some levity this week, here are some videos to lift your spirits. (Just Click on the titles to be redirected)

1. Have you ever had a dream like this?

Most of us have probably seen this video, but more of us have probably had this much trouble forming a normal sentence. It’s okay. We go to college.

2. EA Sports

It’s only game. Why you have to be mad? Hopefully you will find yourself saying this to your siblings and close friends every time they are frustrated with you. They are welcome in advance.

3. Watch this

Every time I see someone with an afro, this video comes to mind. Every. Time. Welcome to my world.

4. Awolnation Cat

I have no idea why the music in this video works so perfectly with what the cat is doing, but it’s awesome and the ending gets me every time.

5. Kid with car

I am fairly certain this kid is going to grow up to be a super villain one day. Or, you know, a corrupt politician.

6. Supercalifragilistic

You will never watch Mary Poppins or eat soup the same way again.

7. Calm owl

This owl is literally every college student in a few weeks when our professors decide to give us our first major exams all at the same time. Why do they do that anyway? They went to college right? You’d think some of them would understand.

8. 20th Century Fox

This video has ruined the 20th Century Fox theme for me, and I cannot watch a movie produced by them without laughing. You’re welcome.

9. 20th Century ketchup bottle

Why this video exists, I have no idea. Have I watched it more than fifty times since I discovered it? You bet.

10. Sike, you can’t call me

The only reason I have any appreciation for Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe.

11. Chewbacca toilet paper

We have all come across this toilet paper dispenser, but after seeing this video, you will never be able to un-hear this sound.

12. Vera Bradley

My family has taken to using Vera Bradley in place of ‘very badly’ at every possible chance. It’s the best thing ever.

13. Peter Pan

Sorry for ruining your childhood, but come on, Peter Pan wasn’t that good of a movie anyway. Also, I am pretty sure it’s super racist, so if anything, this video just makes it better.

14. It’s not just a boulder

I don’t know why I love this video so much, but I definitely do and it is a problem.

15. How to relax with your dog

What on Earth is wrong with this dog?

16. It’s a mental breakdown

Every college student has felt this at one point in time. We just need to invest in our own Kazoos.

Whether or not you have seen these videos before, I hope you like all of them and at least one of them makes you smile. I also hope that you are never able to look at a squeaky TP dispenser the same, you laugh every time you see a 20th Century Fox Film, and you are never able to say “very badly” the correct way again. Also, if you enjoy these videos, you should follow the r/YouTubeHaiku page on Reddit!
