How to Make Your Room a Stress-Free Zone

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

If it is not evident by now; you probably agree that college is a fun and stressful experience. Your dorm room is an oasis, and the one place you are able to escape from crazy and overloading classes and the Florida heat. Here are some objects that can make your living space a relaxing environment to keep the stress away.

Himalayan Salt Lamp

Since you aren’t allowed to have candles in your dorm, these lamps give off the same soft glow. Plus Himalayan salt lamps are proven to improve the air quality as well as focus.

Soft Rug

There’s nothing better than coming back to a plush rug a and walking on it after a long day of running around campus.

Small Water Feature

If you’re like me, you might think this would remind you more of a Chinese buffet than a relaxing living space.  Trust me though; the sound of the water makes your room feel like you are at a spa.

Greenery

Specifically succulents are perfect for your room because they are low maintenance and super cute.  Also, plants are scientifically proven to make us feel happier. So use your green thumb and find the perfect little plant for you.

Scent Plug-in

Lets be honest, one of the first things we notice when we walk into a room is scent.  Bed Bath & Body Works has such cute wall plug-ins and they come in a variety of scents.
