Pretty Little Liars: Red CoAt ReveAl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

Where are all my Pretty Little Liars fans? I know you were right there with me: hand glued to the remote, sitting on the edge of the couch, urging Spencer to hurry up and find Red Coat. Not only was this one of the most thrilling episodes to date, but it also left us with so many questions.

SPOILER ALERT!!

Do we really think Ali is Red Coat? Does this mean she isn’t really dead? Is Toby really on our side? What is with this triangle between Jenna, Shauna, and Melissa?

So many questions, so little time…or answers! Now that we have to wait until June for new episodes to arrive, it’s time to unpack what we’ve seen and try to make sense of it all.

First of all, Ezra and Aria finally broke up. I can’t say I didn’t see it coming; no teacher-student relationship would be able to last, let alone in a small town like Rosewood.

Oh Mr. Fitz, if only this were true!

Next, we see Wilden’s police car show up back in town, with the camera footage still running! While we are still wondering how the car turned up back in Rosewood, we receive a new clue: Shauna and Jenna moved Wilden’s body after Hanna’s mom ran him over! What do we think about this? I knew there was a bad vibe about Shauna showing up all over the place, but now she is involved with Jenna? Can anyone be trusted anymore?

Another key point to think about: Mona. After being trapped in that house with the girls, is Mona on their side? She seemed awfully friendly-or at least wasn’t trying to kill them- once they regained consciousness outside the lodge. Mona’s admission that she had never seen Red Coat was intriguing, especially as she gave up so much information in their car ride home. Mona said to the girls, “she took you away from me” suggesting that this had been Mona’s game in the beginning, but things had gone completely off the tracks and nobody could predict what would happen next. This possible friendship or ally is further cemented when they find something in the trunk of Wilden’s car that scares them all, followed by a mysterious text from A to all five girls saying, “you’re mine now” suggests that maybe Mona and the girls will be working together from now on?

Well, I for one am still feeling the anxiety of watching what was happening in last night’s episode. If only we didn’t have to wait 3 months for new episodes: what’s a girl to do?
