It’s been a while since a showstopping, gag-worthy movie came out. The last movie that really got me excited to go to the movie theater was A Star is Born, which came out in early October of last year.

To be honest, I’m a penny-pincher when it comes to certain things and buying a ticket to see a movie in theaters is one of those things. Why spend $12 to see a movie when you can just wait for it to become available on Redbox and pay $1.79 to rent it instead? Come on, save that $11.

However, this penny-pincher over here is getting really tempted to just splurge and buy movie tickets because there are some phenomenal movies coming out soon. Trailers are being released on Youtube left and right, and I keep finding myself saying, “I need to see that in theaters!”

Here are the movies that I am absolutely 100% going to spend big bucks on to see in the theater:

  1. Avengers: Endgame

Release Date: April 26

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyGGLB542ks

I mean, is this even a question that I’m going to see this in theatres? OH MY GOD am I ready to see this movie! This is the final chapter of the Avengers universe (or is it?) and we’ll finally get to see if the remaining Avengers can overtake Thanos and restore peace and justice to the world. We’ll also find out if the avengers who died will somehow come back.

Marvel has done a spectacular job at hyping up this movie. People are going crazy trying to snag opening day tickets to this movie. Check out this article from CNBC to see how record breaking ticket sales are already for this movie: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/02/marvel-fans-wait-in-online-queue-for-avengers-endgame-tickets.html .

  1. The Hustle

Release Date: May 10th

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WjZIVwx_Fo

Gather all your girlfriends and see the ultimate comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson. Hathaway and Wilson are both con artists who team up to punish the men that have done them wrong (I can hear Cardi B now saying Okurrrr!). I am a huge fan of Anne Hathaway and she seems downright hilarious in this movie. I can’t wait to see her comedy chops!

  1. POKEMON: Detective Pikachu

Release Date: May 10th

Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bILE5BEyhdo

Eight year old Kelli is internally screaming and losing her mind. POKEMON IS BACK!!!!!!!! I will literally shove all the little kids out of the way, because your girl is getting front row seats to this movie. Pokemon WAS my childhood and Pikachu will forever be one of my favorite movie characters of all time. I so desperately wanted Pikachu to be a real “animal” because I would have absolutely adopted him. I’m not a huge fan that Ryan Reynolds is voicing Pikachu; in fact, I absolutely think it was a horrible casting choice, but nonetheless I am so excited to see this movie!

Honorable Mention:

I’m not entirely sure if I’ll see these movies in theatre, but they do look pretty cool:
