Dressing Up Layers

With the weather becoming cooler, everyone is bundling up in layers. The chilly weather usually tends to make people feel groggy and tired. Some of you would rather stay wrapped up in your sheets instead of stepping foot out the door; the last thing you want to do is freeze to death when you do leave the house. During winter, you may have become lazy and unmotivated when it comes to your wardrobe, but you still  need something to keep you warm. Wearing long sleeves can get boring when you want to be warm and stylish. It is the time for you to become familiar with scarves, coats, and boots and how to dress them up.

Below are tips on how to dress fashionably while staying warm.

Scarves

Add a scarf to your layers. If you’re a playful person, you may choose something more bold and colorful while others may opt for one that is more neutral and oversized. There are many stores that provide deals on scarves. Charlotte Russe often has buy one get one 50 percent off sales. These deals are a great time to stock up on scarves that help add a little personality to your winter wardrobe.

Loose Fitting Sweaters

Who says you have to cover up your favorite shirt or blouse? You can wear a loose fitting sweater revealing a cute longer top underneath. For a dressier look, you may choose a top with a ruffled or lace bottom.

Dresses

It may be cold, but it doesn’t mean that you have to keep your dresses stored away. Layer a dress of your choice with a denim jacket or cardigan. You can keep your legs warm with leggings or tights underneath. Add a pair of combat boots to keep your feet warm, and you’re good for the day.

Socks

If you’re one of those people who hate jeans, this is for you. I am not a big fan of jeans myself and can live in leggings or skirts. When I wear a skirt during the winter, I like to match it with a pair of thigh high socks. If the weather is exceptionally cold, you can layer a pair of ruffled socks or leg warmers over your leggings. It adds a girly touch to your outfit while keeping your legs nice and toasty.

Top it off

Accessorize with a cute beanie. Like scarves, they can be worn as your statement piece. It adds a little flair to your outfit. My favorite beanies are from the Kendall and Kylie collection, which can be found at Pacsun. They are snug with cute messages written on them. If you’re feeling more fashion forward, try wearing a fedora. These are cute pieces to top off your winter wardrobe.

Stay cute and warm this winter loves!
