What’s All the Hype About Green Lemon?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

Green Lemon is a modern twist on a Mexican restaurant located in downtown Tampa. In my opinion, it has the best nachos on the planet. Despite having been to Mexico, Mexico City, and Spain, I think these nachos are the best I have ever had in my life.

The combination of the pico de gallo, guacamole, and the most amazing queso you will ever taste is truly unheard of. Not to mention if you add meat on top of it, it becomes even better and basically a meal. If you haven’t had them, you are totally missing out, so go and try them now!!! There is not a better appetizer that I know of or anything that compares to them.

Enough about the nachos — let’s talk about some other amazing foods and desserts that they have that you need to go and try!

The tacos at Green Lemon are second best to the nachos but still amazing! The flavors are so real and authentic, you’d think you’re in the heart of Mexico when you eat them. I have tried a variety of meats in my tacos, but in my opinion, the best is the skirt steak. Its pairing with the pico de gallo, guacamole and queso creates a combination that just melts in your mouth.

If that’s not enough to convince you to try them, I’ll add that they are only two dollars per taco after 5 p.m. on Tuesdays. Honestly, where would we be without Taco Tuesdays?

Once you try the nachos and the tacos, I feel like it’s a must to have dessert after too. Take my advice: get the churros. They’re fried for the perfect amount of time, coated in the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar and plated on top of scoops of ice cream, cherries and whipped cream! What could be better? Not much. I promise it won’t disappoint, so take this opportunity reward yourself.

Do yourself a favor. Go to Green Lemon, try the nachos, tacos and churros. I promise you won’t regret it!
